Fed Gov Today Appoints George Jackson as Chief Content Officer, Strengthening Leadership Team with Industry Veteran
Washington, D.C. – July 16, 2025 — Fed Gov Today proudly announces that George Jackson will join the company as its new Chief Content Officer effective July 21, 2025. A veteran journalist, producer, and media executive, Jackson brings a wealth of experience and a track record of innovation in public sector programming. His appointment marks a significant milestone in Fed Gov Today’s continued growth as a leading voice in government media.
“Bringing George back into the fold is a major win—not just for our team, but for our audience,” said John Meyer, CEO of Fed Gov Today. “He’s a proven innovator with deep roots in government journalism and an unmatched ability to build content that informs, engages, and drives conversation.”
As Chief Content Officer, Jackson will shape and lead Fed Gov Today’s content strategy across all platforms—TV, digital, social, and podcast. He’ll play a hands-on role in developing and approving new programming concepts, while also stepping in front of the camera as an on-air contributor and occasional guest host. George will represent the brand at major industry events and on partner platforms, extending Fed Gov Today’s presence and voice in the government media space.
Behind the scenes, he’ll direct outreach and editorial planning for top-tier government and industry guests, ensuring coverage remains timely, relevant, and diverse. He’ll also oversee production—from scripting and scheduling to post-production—maintaining the high standards and brand consistency Fed Gov Today is known for. Most importantly, Jackson will align content strategy with the company’s business goals and audience needs, helping to drive both impact and growth.
Jackson most recently served as Executive Director of the Content Studio at GovExec -- the largest media company in the public sector marketplace.
Earlier in his career, Jackson produced the Emmy-winning Capital Insider at Washington’s ABC affiliate, WJLA-TV, before creating and launching Government Matters in 2013. Under his leadership, the program evolved from a weekly local broadcast to a daily global show, including production of the feature-length documentary “The Dawn of Generation AI.”
He began his journalism career at WJHL-TV in Tennessee as a producer and lead reporter, earning awards for investigative work on healthcare systems, law enforcement accountability, and cold case investigations. Jackson holds a master’s in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s in English from The Ohio State University.
"Fed Gov Today is the future of public sector media," said Jackson. "I'm excited to join the team and I'm thrilled to work with John and Francis again. Together, we're going to build something truly impactful -- and have a lot of fun doing it."
Originally from Toledo, Ohio, George Jackson lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, twin daughters, and their two rescue dogs.
