Fed Gov Today is opening the door for the next generation of media professionals with a new Media & Content Intern opportunity—designed for individuals ready to do more than observe. This paid, part-time role offers hands-on experience at the center of one of the nation’s leading platforms covering government and technology.
From day one, this intern contributes directly to content that reaches senior leaders across the federal government and industry. It’s an opportunity to step into a fast-moving media environment and play a meaningful role in shaping how stories are told across broadcast, digital, and social channels.
A Front-Row Seat to Federal Media
The Media & Content Intern supports production and digital strategy across Fed Gov Today’s growing platform. The role blends editorial, production, and audience engagement—giving interns exposure to the full lifecycle of content creation.
Responsibilities include supporting video, audio, and digital production, as well as helping distribute content across multiple platforms. The intern creates and schedules social media posts, writes engaging copy, and clips short-form video to expand audience reach.
Research also plays a key role. Interns help identify and prepare background on senior government and industry leaders, contributing to show development and interview preparation. They assist with guest booking—handling outreach, coordination, and scheduling—while also helping manage internal content workflows and preparing materials for publication.
Beyond execution, the role encourages creativity. Interns are invited to contribute ideas for new segments, content strategies, and ways to grow the Fed Gov Today audience.
Who Thrives in This Role
Fed Gov Today is looking for someone who is proactive, organized, and genuinely interested in media and public sector storytelling.
Strong writing skills are essential, particularly the ability to communicate with clarity and professionalism across different formats. Candidates should be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate initiative in taking ownership of their work.
Familiarity with LinkedIn and other professional social platforms is important, and experience with video editing tools like Adobe Premiere or CapCut is a strong plus.
Candidates who stand out often bring prior internship experience, involvement in campus media, or a track record of creating content—whether video, social, blog, or podcast. A demonstrated interest in government, policy, or technology further strengthens an application.
Designed for Real Experience
This internship is structured to provide meaningful, resume-building experience in a relatively short timeframe. The role runs approximately 10–12 weeks, with flexibility based on the candidate’s availability, and requires 15–20 hours per week.
The position follows a hybrid model, with a preference for candidates based in Northern Virginia or Washington, D.C., and offers hourly compensation.
An Opportunity to Contribute from Day One
This is not a passive internship. It is built for someone ready to engage, contribute, and grow quickly in a professional media environment.
For students or early-career professionals looking to break into media—especially at the intersection of government and technology—this role offers a rare chance to gain real responsibility, build a portfolio, and work alongside experienced industry voices shaping national conversations.
